DETECTABUSEtm LIQUID TOXICOLOGY CONTROL URINE

Ttd> Detectabuse controls are prepared from stabilized human based urine available as a negative and at various constituent target levels to monitor the performance of qualitative or quantitative procedures for the detection of drugs in urine at levels established by SAMHSA, CAP, AACC and many state programs. They are compatible with all drug detection procedures which are sufficiently sensitive to detect the control constituents.

Immunoassay controls are available in five regular series each of which is available at cutoff, cutoff -25%, cutoff + 25% and 3x cutoff.

Immunoassay-(H) Series 2000 Opiates Controls are available in four series with constituents and levels corresponding to the regular series but with  a Morphine cutoff of 2000 ng/mL.

GC/MS regular series confirmation controls include cutoff, cutoff -25% and cutoff +25%.

GC/MS-(H) Series 2000 Opiates controls are available with constituents and levels corresponding to the regular series but with Codeine and Morphine at a 2000 ng/mL cutoff, and the addition of 6-MAM at a 10 ng/mL cutoff.

STAT-SKREEN- A Liquid Toxicology Urine Control specifically formulated for use with all hand held screening devices.

STAT-SKREEN-(H) Series 2000 Opiates controls are available with constituents and levels corresponding to the regular series but with Morphine at a 2000 ng/mL cutoff.

All controls are assayed by several SAMHSA certified laboratories prior to being released for sale.

Custom controls are available upon request.

Storage and Stability - Please refer to Package Insert for detailed handling instructions
Unopened:
A. The controls are stable until the expiration date when stored at -10 to -20°C and protected from light.
B. The controls are stable until the expiration date when stored at 2-8°C, however, no stability claims can be made for Oxazepam as it may deteriorate over time when stored refrigerated.

After Opening:
A. The controls are stable for six months or until the expiration date, whichever comes first, when stored at -10 to -20°C. (Controls can be aliquoted and frozen)
B. The controls are stable for 31 days or until the expiration date, whichever comes first, when stored tightly capped at 2-8°C. C. Thaw controls as needed; allow to come to room temperature followed by gentle swirling before use.

THC Stability:

Detectabuse controls are stable under the storage conditions and length of time stated in the package insert. In spite of this fact, under certain conditions, there may be observed a gradual decline in THC levels, over time, from continuous use of a single bottle of control material. This drop in THC values may occur from any THC sample (i.e. calibrators, controls, and samples). The apparent loss of THC most often occurs from handling and not from product instability.

It is well known that THC-COOH binds to surfaces, especially certain plastics 1,2. In order to minimize this adsorption loss we recommend the following when handling any sample (including Detectabuse controls) which may contain THC:

1. It is preferable to use glass pipettes or pour the controls into sample cup. As an alternate, pipettors with disposable plastic tips may be used. Soft plastic transfer pipettes should be avoided.
2. Do not rinse the pipette back and forth into the sample.
3. Sample volume to surface area ratio should be as high as possible (i.e. when transferring, sample containers should be filled as much as possible with sample). Avoid rough surface plastic containers.
4. When pipetting, immerse as little of the pipette tip as possible into the sample solution.
5. Do not return any unused material back into the original sample. These same guidelines should also be followed when aliquoting a control (or sample) for future use.

As a convenience, a specified number of a particular lot number can be set aside against a firm standing order for ten or more bottles of control urine.
