17-KETOSTEROIDS/17-KETOGENIC STEROIDS |
| Summary The 17-Ketosteroid (17-KS) and 17-Ketogenic Steroid (17-KGS) are the same following the reduction/oxidatrion of the 17-KGS. Principle The 17-Ketosteroid method involves acid hydrolysis followed by a simple column adsorption and washing procedure. Urinary 17-Ketosteroids are measured by the Zimmermann method. This procedure eliminates liquid/liquid extractions and the subsequent drying down of elution solvents, thus facilitating the test as a rapid screening procedure while retaining accuracy and reliability. Twenty seven tests can be completed in less than 3 hours.
