17-HYDROXY CORTICOSTEROIDS

Principle

The method involves column adsorption of the 17-OH Corticosteroids (conjugated and free) from 10 mL of a 24 hour non-hydrolyzed urine collection. After simple column washes, the Corticosteroids are eluted and measured by the Porter-Silber method. This procedure eliminates liquid/liquid extractions and the subsequent drying down of elution solvents. 27 samples can be completed in about 2 1/2 hours. Technician time is less than 45 minutes.
